Guitar Case
This is a beautiful case piece in and out with numerous details inspired by
the beauty of handmade guitars. Made of highly figured mottled makore',
cherry, and cocobolo the woods reflect the guitar inspiration. The doors
and drawer have Mother of Pearl inlaid position dots and diamonds which
reiterates this inspiration. The marquetry includes a rose (with a bear
hanging on to the stem) and a dancing animal motif which are Grateful Dead
inspired themes chosen by the client. In addition to displaying two guitars in
the front windows, there is cushioned storage in the cabinet for 8 more
electric (or 4 acoustic) guitars.
In addition to the many aesthetic details of this case, the technical details are
intended to properly store beautiful guitars. The woods of a guitar require a
stable climate to maintain their sound quality so the case is built to
accommodate this. The doors have gaskets so the cabinet can be properly
humidity controlled; the guitars on display are lit by "warm florescent" lights
which provide a halogen appearance without the heat generation. The
physical storage area secures each guitar in a padded, velvet lined, slot that
holds it securely and separately from the other guitars. Click here for
