Serving/Ottoman Trays
My serving tray has taken many directions beyond its basic shape. The wood bottoms are a variety of exotic wood veneers usually with widely varying
marquetry techniques incorporated making each tray unique. Sometimes a blend of subtle tone, contrast and geometry, and sometimes starkly
contrasting, I enjoy exploring the diversity of the wood and geometry this seemingly simple tray offers. The frames are made of various hardwoods, such
as cherry and walnut, and the corners are reinforced with complementary exotic keys. The finish is a very durable varnish which has even surprised me
with its heat and mar resistance. I make the tray in three sizes - the small one (13"x18.75") is the perfect size for a dinner plate, the larger one
(14.25"x21") is great for the cocktail hour, and the Ottoman Size (19"x 27") gives that huge leather ottoman a beautiful place to set a glass!
